[Editor's Note] As market demand for high-power, high-efficiency solutions increases, the design of power applications is becoming increasingly complex and demanding. To address these market challenges, STMicroelectronics (hereinafter ST) is introducing eDesignSuite, a simulation tool that alleviates design difficulties, to its customers. On December 5, ST will host a webinar at the e4ds Webinar on the topic of "DC-DC Converter Design Using eDesignSuite and eDSim." Kwon Kyung-hoe, a representative from ST, will explain how to design ST's DC-DC converters quickly and accurately using eDesignSuite and eDSim. Prior to the webinar, we heard about eDesignSuite from the presenter, ST Assistant Manager Kwon Kyung-hoe.

■ What solution (or product) will be introduced in this webinar?

We plan to introduce the design of a DC-DC converter using eDesignSuite and eDSim.

In addition, I will discuss in detail STPower Studio, Power Tree Designer, various export functions, and Digital Power Workbench, which was newly added this year.

■ Please introduce ST's eDesignSuite product and explain why it is receiving so much attention.

eDesignSuite is a tool that allows customers to quickly and easily design prototypes of desired products on the ST website without the need for separate installation.

Based on the information provided by eDesignSuite, it is possible to check peripheral circuits, necessary components, and output specifications.

■ Where are the major application applications ?span>

Basically, it is available for use in Power and Analog solutions.

In particular, Digital Power Workbench can be used in high-power solutions such as electric vehicles and ESS, where demand has recently been rapidly increasing.

As the demand for high-power, high-efficiency solutions increases in the market, power application design is becoming increasingly complex and demanding.

To address these market challenges, ST is introducing eDesignSuite to customers as a simulation tool that alleviates design difficulties.

Customers can use eDesignSuite and eDSim to identify the desired product output characteristics in advance of production.

Accordingly, design speed and accuracy can be increased, and modified characteristics can be easily identified even if the design is changed.

■ What is the difference compared to competitor products (or existing products)?

Circuits verified in eDesignSuite can be imported into Orcad, and more detailed circuit simulations can be performed in eDSim, along with real-time BOM verification.

In particular, Digital Power Workbench utilizes the STM32 series, an MCU product in which ST has an advantage over competitors, more You can design easily and quickly.
