ASML Highly Interested in Female College Students in Science and Engineering... Support for Capacity Building
As each company's interest in securing semiconductor talent grows, ASML has launched a mentoring program to support the capacity building and career development of female science and engineering talent.
ASML Korea, the Korean branch of ASML, held a 'Global Mentoring' with the Korea Foundation for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology (WISET) on the 30th of last month, and conducted a mentoring program for female science and engineering majors (undergraduate and graduate students). This event was attended by 150 female science and engineering majors, showing great interest, recording the largest number of participants ever.
'Global Mentoring' is an event jointly hosted by ASML Korea and WISET, targeting female science and engineering majors who wish to advance into the semiconductor field. This is one of the programs that ASML is carrying out in various ways to promote talent development in the semiconductor field, and it faithfully reflects ASML's core values of talent management, 'Diversity and Inclusion', and has been held continuously since 2021.
The event began with an opening speech by Joo-Eun Lee, ASML Korea-Japan HR General Manager, followed by mentoring and an introduction to ASML. Through the 'Global Mentoring Program', participating students and employees were divided into small groups, and through this, students were able to hear vivid news about the current semiconductor industry including ASML from employees, as well as advice on future career paths for female science and engineering majors. In addition, there was an explanation of ASML's lithography technology, and an introduction to ASML's corporate culture and recruitment by the HR team.
Manager Lee Ju-eun, who attended the event, said, “ASML is working to create a corporate culture that embraces and respects diverse members. We will continue to work to create a better corporate culture in the future.” She also said, “I hope that the global mentoring program will help improve the capabilities and career development of female science and engineering majors.”
Meanwhile, ASML Korea was recently selected as the '2023 Best Employment Company in Korea' and is continuously contributing to the creation of quality jobs in Korea.
