A service that allows one-time online use of the National Nanofab service has been launched in earnest, and it is expected that convenience for users who wish to use the National Nanofab will improve.
The Ministry of Science and ICT (Minister Lee Jong-ho) announced that it will launch the 'Fab Service Integrated Information System (hereinafter, MoaFab)', which will provide one-stop service to fab users by gathering national nanofab services scattered across agencies in one place online, starting March 25, 2024.
MoaFab conducted a pilot operation for two months starting on January 8th targeting three institutions: the Nano Convergence Technology Institute, the Korea Institute of Nanotechnology, and the Nano Convergence Technology Institute.
During the pilot operation, we worked to stabilize the system by improving user convenience, adding equipment management support functions, and minimizing interface errors between MoaFab and the nanofab organization system.
During the pilot service period, the total number of MoaFab service applications was 3,377, with service use gradually expanding to 169 in January, 767 in February, and 2,441 in March.
In the second half of 2024, the service support organizations will be expanded to the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), Seoul National University's Interdisciplinary Semiconductor Research Center (ISRC), and Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST).
Minister of Science and ICT Lee Jong-ho said, “In the future, nanofab services across the country will be integrated and provided as MoaFab, providing users with convenient services they need,” and “We expect that the nation’s nano and semiconductor competitiveness will take a leap forward starting with the provision of MoaFab services.”
