Nepes is receiving large-scale orders for PMICs for artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductors and is making full-scale investments worth over KRW 60 billion.

Nepes Semiconductor Business Division announced on the 15th that it is expanding its supply by receiving a large order for low-power PMICs for AI servers from a fabless power semiconductor specialist headquartered in Seattle, USA.

The 8-inch line will increase from the current 3,000 units per month to 20,000 units starting in the second quarter, and the 12-inch line will secure a monthly production capacity of 10,000 units by the end of this year and expand to 15,000 units per month by next year.

The total investment scale is approximately 60 to 70 billion won by the end of next year.

In particular, the 12-inch product will be mainly supplied to the server system of the largest AI semiconductor company in the United States, and each system will contain up to 3,000 PMICs.

Accordingly, low-power PMIC is receiving a lot of attention as a technology that maximizes the power efficiency of servers, and Nepes has successfully commercialized this technology and has secured a large number of orders this time.

Meanwhile, the Nepes Semiconductor Division is continuing to see remarkable growth in the volume of existing PMICs for mobile phones, driven by the growth of AI phones, and is also continuing to see solid growth in existing businesses as OLED adoption increases in mobile phone and vehicle electrical products. there is.

Nepes has a semiconductor business division and an electronic materials business division, and the semiconductor business division is expected to continue its rapid growth from KRW 350 billion in sales this year to KRW 520 billion in 2026, driven by the growth of AI semiconductors.

The electronic materials division expects sales this year to range from 95 billion won to over 190 billion won.

Sales of Nepes' two business divisions are expected to grow rapidly over the next two years, from KRW 445 billion this year to KRW 710 billion in 2026.
