ST마이크로일렉트로닉스(이하 ST)가 디지털 제품 여권(DPP: Digital Product Passport) 및 블록체인 기반 애플리케이션의 보안을 강화한다.
Strengthening supply chain and consumer protection for high value-added products with advanced technology based on blockchain-compatible ECC
Trace the entire supply chain path of a product to help verify the origin of individual products and conduct security audits. STMicroelectronics (ST) is strengthening the security of Digital Product Passports (DPP) and blockchain-based applications.
STMicroelectronics today announced the launch of its ST25TA-E NFC tag IC, which implements TruST25™ Edge, a cutting-edge on-chip digital signature mechanism.
A new on-chip signature technology using Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) running on the advanced asymmetric cryptography engine embedded in the ST25TA-E can ensure the authenticity of connected objects.
The new ST25TA-E NFC tag, which integrates on-chip and off-chip digital signature technology, helps prevent counterfeiting and illegal distribution, while increasing consumer engagement.
The ST25TA-E meets the rigorous standards of high-end brands and is ideal for protecting high-value items such as designer clothing and accessories, works of art, or items requiring digital authentication.
By touching the tag with an NFC-enabled smartphone, the entire supply chain path of a product can be traced, helping to verify the origin of individual products and aid in security audits.
The combination of enhanced authentication methods and on-chip user memory capabilities also allows brand owners to deliver personalized consumer experiences.
Customers can easily access content stored on tags via their smartphones and easily interact with brands online, including safely registering and transferring ownership.
For blockchain-based applications, Trust25 Edge ECC-based signatures are natively supported by blockchain technology, ensuring immutability and transparency of data.
In addition, the ST25TA-E tag IC has a variety of additional features, including the ability to password protect part or all of the memory in both read and write modes, permanent file locking to prevent rewriting, and an anonymous mode to protect consumer privacy.
Additionally, by supporting NDEF (Augmented NFC Data Exchange Format), users can easily and quickly transfer data simultaneously via smartphones without having to install an app.
The ST25TA-E provides enhanced security and convenience with on-chip digital signatures supporting advanced ECC-based asymmetric cryptography, and is competitively priced at $0.325 for orders of 1,000 pieces.
Samples are available now, with mass production scheduled to begin in August 2024.
