In recent years, Vietnam’s AI market has been growing, driven by technological advancements, government support, and the growing integration of AI in various industries. Since 2021, Vietnam has been promoting AI development as part of its digital transformation strategy to foster innovation, build a strong AI ecosystem, and position Vietnam as a regional leader in R&D.

NVIDIA announced today that it is partnering with the Vietnamese government to establish a new Vietnam Research and Development Center focused on AI.

NVIDIA said its first R&D center in Vietnam will focus on software development and tap into Vietnam’s strong talent pool of STEM engineers, while collaborating with industry leaders, startups, government agencies, universities, and students to accelerate the adoption of AI.

“We will build on our expertise in AI development and work with a vibrant ecosystem of researchers, startups and enterprises to build amazing AI right here in Vietnam,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA.

The Vietnam R&D Center will develop a valuable platform for NVIDIA and its partners to accelerate AI innovation. Researchers and startups can leverage this infrastructure to develop AI applications for key industries such as healthcare, education, transportation, and finance.

Meanwhile, NVIDIA has been investing in Vietnam’s tech ecosystem for the past eight years. It is working with more than 100 Vietnamese AI startups as part of its Inception program and has connections with 65 universities in Vietnam. Last year, NVIDIA began working with FPT Smart Cloud as its first cloud partner in Vietnam.
