Intel Xeon Platinum 9200 Processor
On the 7th, Intel announced the 'Cooper Lake' processor, a member of the Intel Xeon Scalable processor family.
As part of the Intel Xeon Scalable platform, Coupe Lake processors offer up to 56 cores per socket and built-in AI acceleration in both standard and CPU sockets.
The platform performance delivered by Cooper Lake processors leverages features built into the 'Intel Xeon Platinum 9200 series'.
The Cooper Lake processor with 56 cores consumes less power than the current Intel Xeon Platinum 9200 processor. Cooper Lake will add bfloat16 support to Intel Deep Learning Boost, an x86 processor, providing built-in high-performance AI acceleration capabilities.
“The Intel Xeon Platinum 9200 series is part of the 2nd-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processor family, and is receiving strong interest from customers in HPC, advanced analytics, AI and high-density infrastructure,” said Lisa Spellman, Intel vice president and general manager of Intel Xeon Products and Datacenter Marketing.
Cooper Lake processors are platform compatible with 10nm Ice Lake processors and are expected to be released in the first half of 2020.
