Provides 4A, 8A sourcing and sinking current Infineon Technologies AG announced today the launch of a new family of two-channel isolated EiceDRIVER ICs for high-performance power conversion applications.
Infineon 2EDi The new gate driver IC family is suitable for high-voltage PFC and DC-DC stages, synchronous rectification stages in server, telecom, and industrial SMPS. It is also suitable for 48V to 12V DC-DC converters, batteries, electric vehicle chargers, smart grids, and solar micro inverters.
The EiceDRIVER family offers high timing characteristics. It provides 7ns accuracy in input-to-output transfer delay and up to 3ns channel-to-channel accuracy, which can improve the efficiency of power conversion systems to the next level. In addition, the EiceDRIVER products provide up to 4A and 8A of source and sink current, which can significantly increase the switching efficiency of Infineon CoolMOS and OptiMOS power MOSFETs.
These products also provide robust galvanic isolation from input to output and between output channels, making them useful in hard-switching half-bridge configurations. It also provides reinforced insulation from input to output, ensuring electrical safety where needed.
The low resistance output stage reduces internal power dissipation, allowing maximum power to be delivered to the gates of the power MOSFETs. In addition, when the power MOSFETs are in the 'normally-off' mode, the low resistance output stage ensures that the MOSFET gate voltage is zero, preventing unwanted spurious turn-ons.
To meet diverse application needs, these two-channel isolated gate driver IC families are available in ▲two output currents of 1A/2A or 4A/8A (sourcing/sinking) ▲functional isolation or reinforced isolation ▲three package options: 5mm x 5mm 13-pin LGA (functional isolation), 150mil 16-pin DSO (functional isolation), and 300mil 16-pin DSO (reinforced isolation).
