Cloud native use cases are increasing
Kubernetes Forum Seoul opens for the first time in Korea
CNCF Membership Number Surpasses 500 with 56 Companies Joining According to IDC, by 2025, more than 90% of apps released will be cloud native. Cloud Native refers to an approach to building and running applications that leverages the benefits of the cloud computing delivery model.

Cloud native can be described as an environment where application structures are developed as independent units specialized for a single task (microservices), these are created as units (containers) that can be run in a lightweight virtualized environment, and these containers can be managed.
Today, companies and organizations across all industries are rushing to adopt cloud native technologies, recognizing that they must become software companies even if they are not in the software business.

On the 9th, CNCF held its first 'Kubernetes Forum Seoul' at the Seoul Dragon City Hotel, where domestic and international developers and practitioners gathered to discuss the present and future of the cloud native ecosystem. />
'Kubernetes' is a portable and scalable open source platform for managing containerized workloads and services, released by Google in 2014.
The Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), a subsidiary of the Linux Foundation, was formed to create a sustainable cloud native ecosystem.
CNCF, which oversees important elements of global technology infrastructure such as Kubernetes, Prometheus, Envoy, CoreDNS, Containerd, Fluentd, Jaeger, and Vitess, recently added 56 new members, bringing its total membership to over 500.
More than 12,000 people attended 'KubeCon+CloudNativeCon' held in San Diego, California, USA from November 18th to 22nd. CNCF plans to host larger KubeCon+CloudNativeCon events in Amsterdam, Shanghai, and Boston in 2020, as well as Kubernetes Forums in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Tokyo.
As membership grows,
the CNCF end-user community now includes more than 125 organizations that provide feedback on project roadmaps, share best practices, and discuss future projects for CNCF technology leaders.
Additionally, CNCF announced that the number of vendors with Certified
Kubernetes products has surpassed 100 through its Certified Kubernetes Conformance Program . Certified vendors are proven organizations that can supply suitable Kubernetes distributions, hosting platforms, and installers.

“CNCF’s growth is a testament to the continued impact of cloud-native technologies across all industries,” said Dan Kohn, executive director of CNCF.
He emphasized, “Our member companies range from startups to government agencies, the world’s largest technology companies, and even Fortune 50 end users.”
He continued, “With the addition of many innovators, the cloud native ecosystem will continue to expand,” and “We will be able to solve today’s most pressing technology challenges.”
Meanwhile, the Kubernetes Forum Seoul held on this day was sponsored by Microsoft Azure, F5 Networks, Google Cloud, IBM, Red Hat, and Samsung SDS.
