Keysight-Ansys Collaborate on Wireless Design Solutions
'PathWave ADS RFPro' and 'Ansys HFSS'
Solve complex development challenges and get to market quickly

Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS), a leading technology company that helps enterprises, service providers and governments accelerate innovation to connect and secure the world, announced today that it has expanded its collaboration with Ansys to integrate its PathWave Advanced Design System (ADS) RFPro environment with Ansys HFSS electromagnetic simulation. This collaboration will enable radio frequency (RF) and microwave engineers to streamline their workflows and accelerate time to market by eliminating bottlenecks in time-consuming, manual coupling design tools.

The companies’ initial collaboration, announced in February 2021, has resulted in improved workflows for both companies’ products, accelerating time to market in the 5G, aerospace and defense, and automotive sectors.

Keysight's RFPro simulation solution is an electromagnetic (EM) environment for RF and microwave circuit designers that seamlessly integrates with Keysight PathWave ADS. RFPro makes EM analysis easy, simplifies EM circuit co-simulation, and reduces simulation setup time from hours to weeks.

ADS RFPro was introduced in PathWave ADS 2019 and has been widely adopted within the ADS user community. Today, Keysight is solving customers’ growing workflow challenges with PathWave solutions.

HFSS is a trusted and widely used finite element method (FEM) tool, and now ADS design engineers can leverage HFSS as an additional simulation option within ADS RFPro, in addition to Momentum and Keysight FEM.

“Many customers connect Keysight’s PathWave ADS, RFPro and Ansys HFSS for RF circuit design to verify RF modules,” said Steve Pytel, vice president of product management at Ansys. “Manually moving design files between tools can be time-consuming and create bottlenecks, especially as die-counts for complex RF modules increase for applications such as 5G and 6G.”

“Ansys is working with Keysight to mitigate these challenges, ultimately creating efficient workflows that accelerate results for our customers and drive industry innovation,” he said. The PathWave ADS RFPro HFSS connectivity option is available in Keysight’s ADS 2022.
