| Expanding the range of choices for corporate customers with the introduction of IoT rate plans LG Uplus announced on the 22nd that it will launch a nationwide network service for IoT communication 'LTE-M1'.

LG U+ Launches LTE-M1 Nationwide Network Service
With this, U+ has secured a total of three IoT technologies, including NB-IoT, which was introduced in 2017, and 5G, which began commercialization this month.
LTE-M1 is an IoT technology suitable for services that frequently transmit medium-capacity data such as HD-level images and videos. It has high power efficiency, so it can provide services for many years without worrying about batteries even when transmitting large amounts of data. In particular, it is expected to become the basis for IoT expansion in the areas of mobile terminals and control services such as black boxes and electric bicycles.
Along with the launch of the nationwide LTE-M1 network, a new IoT rate plan for enterprises has also been established. The newly introduced rate plans are 'LPWA 110', which provides 5MB for 1,100 won (VAT included) per month, and 'LPWA 220', which provides 15MB for 2,200 won (VAT included) per month.
The service choices for corporate customers have been strengthened by allowing them to use three types of rate plans, including the existing 'LPWA 33 (KRW 330 per month, 100KB)', depending on data capacity and usage situation.
U+ is also promoting a PMV (Personal Mobility Vehicle) service based on LTE-M1. It will allow customers to monitor the status of various means of transportation such as electric bicycles and electric kickboards and control their locations. In addition, it plans to continuously expand the LTE-M1 service in the future by linking up with various manufacturers and sharing service providers.
LG Uplus Corporate New Business Group Head Cho Won-seok said, “The LTE-M1 network that we recently launched nationwide is a technology suitable for IoT services for moving vehicles,” and added, “We will continue to prepare high-quality technologies and services to expand customer choices and contribute to the creation of the IoT ecosystem and industry revitalization.”
