Korea's 20% Growth Target, Supported by FortiGuard Lab
As the expansion of the device and network domain leads to an increase in cyber threats, companies are increasingly recognizing security as a key element for securing corporate value and product reliability. Security solution companies responding to evolving cyber attacks have presented their future strategies and growth directions for this year.
Fortinet Korea held a press conference to announce the 2025 Fortinet Korea security market strategy at the Fortinet Korea office in Samseong-dong, Seoul on the 11th.
This event, which was organized to announce Fortinet’s 2025 strategy and 2024 performance, was presented in person by Cherry Fung, General Manager of North Asia, who visited Korea.
Fortinet's performance last year was $5.96 billion in sales, up 12.3% year-on-year, and CEO Cherry Fung emphasized that service sales in particular grew by more than 20% year-on-year. Since its IPO in November 2009, Fortinet has been recognized by the market for its growth potential and value, with its corporate value increasing by over 8,000% from $1.25 to the recent closing price of $107.
Cherry Fung, CEO of Fortinet, who boasts that 72% of the Fortune 100 are Fortinet customers, emphasized that as a leader in firewall security, Fortinet has a strong market advantage over its competitors. In terms of patents, Fortinet holds 1,027, which is twice as many as its competitors' 548 patents, and it is reported that the number of registered patents is 1,816.
Fortinet is also expanding its infrastructure investments, using its growing revenue base and free cash flow to invest in data center infrastructure worldwide. It said that it has built and operates data centers and co-data centers in Taipei, Sydney, Toronto, Ottawa, and Chicago, and recently opened new data centers in Sydney and Spain.
Cherry Fung, CEO, mentioned the importance of the domestic market during a Q&A session at a press conference, saying that Korea is well on the list of new data center plans and that they will share their approach in stages in the future.

Cho Won-gyun, CEO of Fortinet Korea, said, “We feel that customers across industries are changing their perspectives on security, and customers are personally experiencing that security breaches go beyond simple information leaks and threaten their corporate value and survival.” He added, “Managing a large number of devices with limited manpower and expertise significantly reduces our ability to detect and respond to threats, so we need to improve our security solutions to be more automated and efficient.”
Fortinet strengthened its security portfolio last year by acquiring 'Lacework', 'Next DP', and 'PerceptionPoint' in cloud security, and is responding to the security issues of enterprises by introducing new products such as a secure networking solution with integrated Wi-Fi 7 based on the security operating system 'FortiOS 7.6', and a single integrated AI platform 'Lacework FortiCNAPP', FortiDLP, and FortiAppSec Cloud.
In particular, Fortinet has strategic partnerships with leading OT vendors for secure networking and security operations (SecOps) capabilities. Through partnerships, we introduced a comprehensive platform, the Fortinet OT Security Platform, and Fortinet's products achieved innovation by integrating with the GenAI assistant, 'FortiAI.'
This year, Fortinet Korea plans to focus on strengthening its strategy in the three key markets of SOC (SecOps), SASE, and Cloud, and securing leadership in new industries including the public market and new technology markets. Through this, it announced that it will achieve its goal of 20% sales growth compared to the previous year.
Earlier this year, Fortinet appointed a Korean representative for FortiGuard Labs, its security research lab, and announced its plan to help domestic customers quickly understand the evolution of cyberattacks and new trends in the security field by utilizing FortiGuard Labs’ intelligence, and to proactively defend against intelligent cyber threats.
Cherry Fung, CEO, said, “As Fortinet celebrates its 25th anniversary, we plan to continue investing in AI across all our solutions and are committed to providing cybersecurity solutions based on the expertise of our dedicated team and partners.”
