Building a smart city by applying new IT technologies such as AI, data, and autonomous driving LG CNS has been selected as the preferred bidder for the construction and operation of the 'Busan Eco Delta Smart City National Pilot City' and will begin building a smart city that applies new IT technologies such as AI, data, autonomous driving, mobility, and robots.
'Busan Eco Delta Smart City National Model City' is the largest smart city project in Korea, commissioned by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Water Resources Corporation. The total project size is approximately 5.4 trillion won, and the project period is a total of 15 years, including 5 years of construction and 10 years of operation.
The 'Busan Eco Delta Smart City National Model City' construction project is to build commercial, office, residential, and cultural facilities on a blank 840,000 pyeong site, similar to the area of Yeouido in Gangseo-gu, Busan, and to apply cutting-edge IT technologies to create a smart and sustainable city.
LG CNS plans to oversee the construction of DX services including AI, data, autonomous driving, mobility, robots, digital twins, healthcare, cybersecurity, smart IoT, and lifestyle innovation services.
For example, AI-based user pattern analysis can be used to predict bus, subway, taxi, and autonomous shuttle · operates shared vehicles, electric vehicle charging stations, and parking lots, and implements a MaaS (Mobility as a Service) service that allows users to make integrated reservations and payments for transportation through a single app.
It provides various robot services, such as operating autonomous delivery robots, cooking robots, and serving robots in restaurants. Smart waste disposal devices equipped with AI technology are placed in residential complexes to automatically sort recyclable resources, and autonomous robots transport waste. The smart city control center can manage recyclable waste disposal in real time.
It collects personal health data through healthcare devices worn by citizens, analyzes the data using AI and data technology, and links with local medical institutions to diagnose diseases early and provide customized healthcare services.
For the 'Busan Eco Delta Smart City National Pilot City' project, LG CNS formed the 'The In Consortium' by bringing together top large, medium, and small companies in key smart city areas such as finance, construction, mobility, renewable energy, communications, and healthcare.
The 'The In Consortium' is comprised of 12 companies, including LG CNS as the lead organizer, Shinhan Bank, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, Hanyang, SK Ecoplant, LG Hellovision, Humax Mobility, Korea DRD, Wins, Encom, E8, and Health Connect.
The 'in' in 'The In Consortium' symbolizes the three-river waterway geography of Busan Eco Delta Smart City, where three natural streams meet, and also signifies the citizens who will live here.
