Femtet, Reduce CAE Usage Fees

As the era of digital twins and smart factories approaches, the importance of product design and simulation in virtual space is gradually increasing. It is important to advance the development cycle through virtual simulation using CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) at the product design stage, but the high cost of CAE software is bound to be a burden for companies and research institutes.

At the recent Winter Conference of the Korean Institute of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science, Emco Electronics, a domestic distributor of Murata Manufacturing's products and solutions, introduced Femtet, a CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) software based on the finite element method (FEM).

“Femtet, developed by Murata Software, is a comprehensive analysis software based on the finite element method (FEM) that provides multi-physics of eight solvers as standard,” explained Lee Tae-seop, a manager at Emco Electronics.

In particular, Murata's Femtet is expected to be in the spotlight among small and medium-sized businesses, schools, research institutes, and training centers as it is offered at a lower price than other companies' SW by lowering the burden of high-cost CAE usage fees. Emco Electronics explained that it provides a separate Femtet Academic Package, a full-option package exclusively for educational institutions, supporting functions such as transient analysis and arbitrary waveform analysis.

“Emco Electronics is currently growing by expanding its portfolio with PUYA memory and Murata CAE SW Femtet,” said CEO Lee Tae-seop. “We are striving to become a company that can meet customer needs through a diverse portfolio.”
