Silicon Labs Delivers Application-Optimized Ultra-Low-Power Bluetooth Connectivity

BG22L for low power, BG24L for advanced AI/ML acceleration

Silicon Labs has introduced two new Bluetooth SoCs that provide general Bluetooth devices and advanced AI/ML acceleration, delivering application-optimized, ultra-low-power Bluetooth connectivity.

Silicon Labs recently introduced the BG22L and BG24L SoCs for Bluetooth® LE connectivity.

These products are optimized for common Bluetooth applications such as asset tracking tags and small appliances.

The 'L' stands for cost-effective 'Lite' devices.

The BG22L provides robust security and processing capabilities and is designed for low-power applications.

The SoC includes an ultra-low-power receive mode and a precision low-frequency RC oscillator, enabling it to operate for up to 10 years on a single coin-cell battery.

It also supports Bluetooth 5.4 and Direction Finding.

The BG24L provides advanced AI/ML acceleration and channel sounding (Bluetooth Channel Sounding) and is optimized for artificial intelligence and machine learning applications.

This SoC is a Bluetooth 6.0 device that supports channel sounding technology that can determine distance with a location accuracy of less than 1 meter.Supports ability.

It also extends battery life and provides high inference performance through the built-in Matrix Vector Processor (MVP) AI/ML accelerator.
