According to data from the fourth quarter of 2024 released by GitHub, more than 2.33 million developers and more than 200,000 organizations are currently conducting development activities based on GitHub in Korea.

The number of codes uploaded to GitHub by domestic developers has exceeded 6.6 million, and the number of repositories held by domestic developers and organizations is over 6.8 million.

This shows that Korean developers are actively contributing to and collaborating with open source, and suggests that they are playing an important role in the global software development ecosystem.

The GitHub Innovation Graph tracks cross-country collaboration data, analyzing Git Pushes and Pull Requests sent from one country to another.

According to this data, the major countries with which Korean developers collaborated most actively were the United States, Japan, and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR).

This means that Korean developers are actively engaging in technology exchanges in the global market and creating a more expanded development environment through cooperation with various countries.

Most used programming language by Korean developers in Q4 2024 data The language was found to be JavaScript.

Python and Java followed as the most used languages.
