Custom storage room, full metal cooling to maximize freshness Samsung Electronics is releasing a new 2018 ‘Chef Collection’ refrigerator product.
The 'Chef Collection' was first launched in 2014, reflecting the fine temperature control technology and insights of Michelin chefs, and is a product leading the domestic premium refrigerator market.
The new 2018 model features expanded application of ‘metal cooling’ and enhanced ‘custom storage room’ function that allows specialized storage of various food ingredients.
Samsung Electronics has expanded the application of 'metal cooling', which is excellent at transmitting and maintaining cold air, from existing refrigerators and freezers to 'custom storage rooms', and has treated the entire space where stored food comes into contact with it with metal.
'Metal Cooling', which has excellent cold air transmission and maintenance performance, improves the temperature inside the refrigerator by more than 70% after opening and closing the door, keeping food ingredients fresher for longer.

The 'custom storage room' can control the temperature in up to 7 different modes from -23 degrees Celsius to 5 degrees Celsius, allowing for optimal storage depending on the characteristics of the food ingredients.
In particular, the newly added kimchi mode in the 'custom storage room' allows for detailed adjustments such as strong cooling, standard cooling, and weak cooling depending on the salinity of the kimchi, so it can be used like a kimchi refrigerator in households that do not have a lot of kimchi to store.
In addition, Samsung's unique differentiated technology, 'triple independent cooling', is applied to maintain the optimal temperature and humidity in each separate space, including the refrigerator, freezer, and 'custom storage room', with three coolers, and the 'micro-temperature technology' minimizes the temperature deviation to ±0.5℃, preserving the original taste and nutrition of food ingredients.
Samsung Electronics is introducing 'Hond Brown', which goes well with warm wooden interiors, in addition to 'Hond Black' and 'Hond Silver' colors with a subtle sheen and depth to its 'Chef Collection' lineup.
These colors have been loved by many consumers as they are luxurious while eliminating the cold feeling that is characteristic of metal.
In addition, we actively reflected the opinions of consumers who previously used the 'Chef Collection' refrigerator and improved the design perfection by applying a 'matte handle' to prevent fingerprints from easily appearing on the handle.
Samsung Electronics is also introducing a new lineup of Family Hub products based on the 2018 ‘Chef Collection’ and ‘T9000’ refrigerators.
The 2018 'Family Hub' is characterized by the new application of AI-based voice recognition technology 'Bixby', speaker recognition voice service, Harman's AKG premium speaker, etc., and the strengthening of online shopping and children's content services to reflect consumer lifestyles.
The 2018 'Chef Collection' refrigerators will be released in a total of 5 models, including one 'Family Hub' model, with capacities ranging from 921 to 952 liters. The price ranges from 6.44 million won to 10.14 million won. The new 'T9000' model is operated with a total of 20 models including 5 'Family Hub' models, and the capacity is 648 to 856 liters and the release price is 2.39 million won to 4.59 million won.
Samsung Electronics Home Appliances Business Division Managing Director Choi Ik-soo said, “The 2018 ‘Chef Collection’ refrigerator maximizes the product’s original freshness preservation function and enhances convenience with the evolved ‘Family Hub.’” He added, “We will continue to strive to deliver the differentiated value of Samsung refrigerators to consumers through the super premium ‘Chef Collection.’”
