LG Electronics' robot vacuum cleaner recently became a hot topic in Israel after chasing away a thief who broke into an empty house.

Kobi Ozer, who lives in Holon in central Israel, was working in his office when he received several photos on his smartphone. They were from the LG Hom-Bot robot vacuum cleaner at home.



The photo shows the silhouette of a thief who broke into the house. Shocked by the photo, Ozer immediately called the police and neighbors. Fortunately, there was no damage or theft. Locals say the thief was startled by the sound of the LG robot vacuum taking pictures and ran away in a hurry.

This story became known when Ozer called the LG Electronics service center to thank them for the robot vacuum cleaner that helped him get rid of the thief. It has been a hot topic of conversation, especially after being reported on Israeli TV programs such as the 'Economic Show' and the 'Avri Gilad Morning Show' this month.

The reason LG Homebot guarded Ozer's house was thanks to the 'Home Guard' function. When the robot vacuum cleaner detects movement in the house, it takes continuous pictures and sends them to the homeowner's smartphone. Even if the homeowner is away from home for a long time due to vacation or business trip, he can easily check what is happening in the house on his smartphone by activating the 'Home Guard' function.
