Realistic sports activities are possible
On the 20th, KT opened 'K-live X', a children's sports experience center that uses mixed reality (MR) technology, at Lotte Department Store Bucheon Jungdong Branch.

K-live X Middle East Store is a realistic sports experience space created by KT, Lotte Department Store, and ICT service distributor KTH.

The experiential space was created with the aim of allowing children to run around freely, build physical strength, and have various experiences while their parents shop, considering the high proportion of parents who visit department stores with their children.

K-live X Middle East store applied MR technologies developed by KT itself, such as object motion recognition, multi-tracking, multi-faceted display, and multi-point 3D replay.

MR Football is the first in Korea to introduce KT's patented 3D replay technology, which films the movements of a player who has scored a goal in three dimensions and then replays them on the stadium screen, maximizing the sense of realism and fun. It is designed to allow you to immerse yourself in content without having to wear separate equipment such as VR devices or headsets, allowing for a freer experience.

KT has been leading the realistic media business since 2014 by opening the hologram-only theater 'K-live'. Starting with this Lotte Department Store Jungdong branch, it plans to expand the MR sports zone business to about 60 stores nationwide, including the Busan Gwangbok branch within the year.

KT Future Business Development Team Leader Koh Yoon-jeon said, “MR services are expected to secure a more diverse customer base than VR since they allow for realistic media experiences without having to wear separate equipment,” adding, “We will continue to discover differentiated MR content that enables multiplay through the convergence of 5G networks and MR technologies, and strive to provide realistic media services that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, not just children.”
K-live X Jungdong branch is located on the 8th floor of Lotte Department Store Bucheon Jungdong branch. You can visit in person or make a reservation by phone. The usage fee is 15,000 won on weekdays (Mon-Thu) and 18,000 won on weekends (Fri-Sun or public holidays), and can be used for up to 100 minutes.
