AI 비전검사 소프트웨어 전문기업 ㈜피아이이(PIE, 대표 최정일)가 한국전자통신연구원(ETRI)과 3D CT 검사 기술이전계약을 체결하고 기술협력을 강화해 나간다.
Signing of 3D CT inspection technology transfer agreement with ETRI
PIE (CEO Jeong-il Choi), a company specializing in AI vision inspection software, is strengthening its inspection capabilities in advanced industries, including secondary batteries, by internalizing 3D CT inspection technology.
PII announced on the 24th that it has signed a 3D CT inspection technology transfer agreement with the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) and will strengthen technological cooperation.
Through technical cooperation with ETRI, PIAI will further strengthen its non-destructive comprehensive inspection capabilities for secondary batteries and will also begin developing related software.
Through this, PIIE is strengthening its core competitiveness for sustainable growth by internalizing 3D CT inspection technology and expanding its 3D inspection solution portfolio.
“PII already possesses differentiated AI machine vision inspection capabilities, but what’s more significant is that we have secured non-destructive inspection technology and solutions through technical cooperation with ETRI,” said CEO Jeong-il Choi of PII. “PII will not only further strengthen its position as the only domestic company with internal and external battery inspection technology, but we also expect great synergy effects with the AI deep learning technology we have already secured,” he added.
He also said, “Based on this technological cooperation, we will further strengthen the competitiveness of our inspection solutions in various cutting-edge industries other than secondary batteries, expand our business areas, and also seek to increase sales.”
PIAI plans to commercialize the technology starting in October and begin expanding sales in earnest starting in 2025.
Non-destructive testing technology involves disassembling or dismantling the inspection object in its final state.Because it can identify defects or characteristics of materials or structures without damaging them, it is used in various industries such as manufacturing, including batteries, as well as construction, aerospace, and nuclear power.
Meanwhile, PIIE is leading the manufacturing intelligence market by independently developing and supplying AI vision inspection and data-based smart factory solutions essential for implementing manufacturing intelligence based on machine vision, image processing, and AI deep learning technologies.
In addition, we have been steadily strengthening our technological competitiveness, including by developing an AI vision inspection solution for the next-generation 46-pie battery last year.
Here, by providing data-based smart factory solutions, we are contributing greatly to maximizing our customers' production efficiency by collecting, analyzing, and monitoring various data generated from heterogeneous equipment and sensors in manufacturing sites, as well as predicting possible abnormal (abnormal) situations in the future through AI solutions.
Since 2020, when it began supplying secondary battery inspection solution software in earnest, PIIE has achieved sales of KRW 28.5 billion in 2022, growing at an average annual rate of 150%, and has recorded sales of KRW 41.3 billion in 2023.
