코닝(Corning)이 모바일 기기의 내구성을 한층 향상시킬 혁신적인 글래스 세라믹 커버 소재, Corning® Gorilla® Glass Ceramic을 새롭게 선보였다.
Improved drop resistance on rough surfaces
Corning Incorporated has introduced Corning® Gorilla® Glass Ceramic, a new, innovative glass ceramic cover material that promises to significantly improve the durability of mobile devices.
This product is expected to become a key material for mobile devices where durability is important, as it improves drop durability on rough surfaces compared to competing aluminosilicate glasses.
In Corning's internal testing, Gorilla Glass Ceramic can withstand 10 consecutive drops from one meter onto a rough asphalt-simulating surface without damage.
This is in contrast to conventional aluminosilicate glasses, which break on the first drop.
These results demonstrate the high durability of Gorilla Glass Ceramic and Corning’s innovative approach to product design.
“Gorilla Glass is a symbol of strength and resilience,” said David Velasquez, vice president, Corning Gorilla Glass. “This new material continues that legacy by revolutionizing the quality and durability of display covers and enclosures.”
Gorilla Glass Ceramic is the latest addition to Corning’s Gorilla Glass family, and will be available on Motorola devices in the coming months. It is scheduled to be released.
It is expected to provide greater satisfaction to consumers and competitiveness to clients.
Corning has been a global innovator of glass and glass-ceramic materials for more than 170 years. Having invented the world’s first colorless, transparent glass-ceramic material for consumer electronics, Corning is committed to developing new materials that enhance the durability of mobile devices and meet evolving consumer demands.
