Providing global manufacturing-specific digital reality solutions and new product demos
Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence (Hexagon), a global leader in digital reality solutions combining sensors, software, and autonomous technologies, is unveiling a new structured light scanner with industry-first smart zoom capabilities at SIMTOS 2024.
Hexagon announced on the 26th that it will participate in 'SIMTOS 2024 (hereinafter referred to as SIMTOS),' the largest domestic production manufacturing technology exhibition held at KINTEX in Ilsan from April 1st to 5th.
Hexagon is introducing its new smart structured light scanner, which was released in March of this year, for the first time in Korea.
The new model of smart structured light scanner to be unveiled at this exhibition, the 'SmartScan VR800 (hereinafter referred to as VR800)', is a scanner optimized for automated scan cells.
The model is the first in the industry to support a multi-camera setup that combines dual stereo cameras with a mechanical optical zoom-in projection device.
This allows for quick switching of scan areas without changing lenses, while providing best-in-class accuracy. The VR800 can be integrated into fully automated inspection systems based on robots or cobots and is applicable to manufacturing processes utilizing molds, castings, and additive manufacturing, including automotive manufacturing.
Hexagon will showcase precision part machining and quality inspection processes, allowing visitors to experience Hexagon’s suite of production software across the entire manufacturing process.
The process consists of CAM programming, comprehensive G-code verification, machine probe systems, CT data analysis and quality inspection, and Hexagon presents production software, machine tool probes, CT data analysis and quality inspection solutions.
Solution experts stationed at the booth will provide explanations and customized consulting on various specifications and product lines to both domestic small and medium-sized manufacturers and large corporations.
“In line with the digital transformation of global manufacturing sites where robot adoption is accelerating, domestic companies are also quickly reorganizing their manufacturing sites. We hope that you will experience Hexagon’s newly launched scanner and other technologies and solutions required for automation at the Simtos event, where you can see new robots and digital manufacturing technologies in one place,” said Sung-Brian Hexagon, President of Manufacturing Intelligence Korea. “We will do our best to support you by meeting various stakeholders at this event to find the best digital innovation strategies and solutions that each site needs and efficiently execute them.”
The Hexagon booth can be found at the Tooling and Measurement Technology Hall (Booth No. 01A270) in KINTEX 1 Exhibition Center, Ilsan.
Meanwhile, Hexagon opened the Hexagon Innovation Center in Changwon Industrial Complex in February to provide digital transformation plans across the entire process to companies, research and manufacturing facilities, and to support their actual implementation. In addition, we are continuing industry-academia cooperation through various exchanges with the Acoustical Society of Korea, the Korean Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences, and the Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Equipment Research Institute to contribute to research and development of original technologies.
