Schneider Electric has launched a containment system that can maximize cooling efficiency in data centers.

Schneider Electric introduced NetShelter Aisle Containment, a rack containment system that efficiently blocks air and increases cooling efficiency, on the 20th. This can reduce unnecessary energy consumption required for data center cooling and increase cooling energy efficiency by more than 20%.

Data centers, which house numerous servers and network equipment, require cooling to maintain performance, stability, and efficiency. A containment system is an air blocking device that improves cooling efficiency by reducing the mixing of hot and cold air emitted by servers inside a data center. It can further increase cooling efficiency by directing hot air only to the back of the servers and cold air only to the front of the servers.

It also features an active flow controller that can automatically adjust fan speed based on air pressure to control airflow through the cooling device, saving up to 40% of fan energy, and pressure-based intelligent airflow control that minimizes air leakage by equalizing fan pressure inside and outside the isolating pod.

In particular, it can be customized to fit any size and environment of the computer room, and it has the advantage of being easy to install and commission as it is made of lightweight and strong ABS (high-value-added synthetic resin).
