Building Machinery Facilities Through Partner Ecosystem
Rockwell Automation, a company specializing in industrial automation and digital transformation, announced on the 16th that it has completed the development of a ‘quantitative supply feeder’ facility through collaboration with Daesung Machinery Industry.
Through this collaboration with Daesung Machinery, Rockwell Automation has built a quantitative feeder facility that automatically supplies various additives in fixed amounts. A quantitative feeder is a transport facility that supplies a fixed amount of product in a process that requires precision in the amount of product being supplied. Daesung Machinery has supplied the quantitative feeder it has developed to major customers’ domestic and overseas factories.
The quantitative feeder jointly built by Rockwell Automation and Daesung Machinery Industry accurately transports non-uniform products, securing a quantitative accuracy of over 99%. Quantitative accuracy refers to the degree to which a product or process can accurately discharge a certain amount according to a certain standard. The higher the quantitative accuracy, the more consistent the product or process can maintain quality.
A horizontal agitator inside the feeder prevents product solidification even when loading large quantities of products or running the feeder for long periods of time. It is developed based on PLC, allowing for easy maintenance and modification, which in turn reduces equipment operating costs.
“Through collaboration with Rockwell Automation Director Kwon Sang-hoon and Deputy Manager Kim Seong-hoon, we were able to develop a more precise and high-performance quantitative feeder,” said Lee Seong-ju, Senior Team Leader at Daesung Machinery, who participated in the development of this facility. “Our goal in the future is to develop innovative products by combining Rockwell Automation’s software and Daesung Machinery’s hardware.”
“This collaboration with Daesung Machinery is a representative example of Rockwell Automation’s ability to support not only smart factories but also our partner ecosystem to build world-class, high-precision machine facilities,” said Lee Yong-ha, CEO of Rockwell Automation. “In the future, Rockwell Automation will continue to expand its business areas through collaboration with various companies.”
Meanwhile, Daesung Machinery Industry is a representative company that develops and produces various specialized machines applied to processes such as transport of powders, solids, and liquids, as well as drying, cooling, and mixing.
In particular, it produces secondary battery materials such as positive and negative electrode materials, chemical plants, and food plants, as well as special purpose machines such as dryers, crushers, and mixers. The export ratio of the entire sales of the high-performance, high-precision product lineup reaches 50%.
