Avansi 5G Vehicle, 62 Patent Holders, 7 Car Brand Contracts
Hyundai and Kia join the Avanti 5G Vehicle program, accelerating its growth with 62 patent holders and seven auto brands already signed licensing agreements despite its recent launch.
Avanci, a global leader in the joint licensing solutions market, announced today that Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors Corporation have joined the Avanci Vehicle licensing program.
Over the past year, Avansi 4G Vehicle has seen eight new patent holders join the company and nine new automotive brands sign licensing agreements, demonstrating the broad acceptance of Avansi’s one-stop program for 4G connected vehicles.
Hyundai and Kia recently joined the Avanti 5G Vehicle Program. As a result, 5G connected vehicles from the Genesis, Hyundai, and Kia brands will be granted licenses for 5G, 4G, 3G, and 2G standard-essential patents from the 62 patent holders currently participating in the Avanti 5G Vehicle Program, as well as other companies that join as patent holders in the future.
“Avanci is pleased to welcome Hyundai Motor Company and Kia, two of the world’s largest providers of innovative mobility solutions, as the initial licensees for Avanci’s new 5G vehicle licensing program,” said Jang Ho-sik, Senior Vice President of Avanci Korea. “We would like to thank you for your continued trust and faith in Avansi,” he said.
Launched in August 2023, the Avansi 5G Vehicle Program offers a broad range of patented technologies essential for 5G, 4G, 3G and 2G connectivity for 5G connected vehicles, including vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) connected technology.
“Since the launch of Avanci 5G Vehicle in August of this year, we have seen significant growth with seven automotive brands and 62 patent holders already on board. This demonstrates the growing momentum of our global one-stop solution. We will continue to focus on delivering value to all of our partners and look forward to more companies joining,” said Laurie Fitzgerald, Senior Vice President of Avanci Vehicle.
The Avanci 4G Vehicle Program provides joint licensing of 4G, 3G and 2G essential patents from 58 patent holders, and more than 150 million connected vehicles from approximately 100 automotive brands are currently licensed from Avanci.
“Our 4G program is gaining traction with our market-driven pricing of $20, a one-time payment over the life of each connected vehicle,” said Max Olofsson, vice president of licensing at Avanci. “Over the past year, we have seen a number of new entrants to the Avansi 4G Vehicle Program, including eight new patent holders and nine new automotive brands, and the program is now operational across a range of connected vehicles, including passenger cars, buses, trucks and construction vehicles,” he said.
“We are thrilled that Avansi’s independent, market-leading solutions have gained widespread recognition across the global automotive and mobile communications industries,” said Kasim Alfalahi, Founder and CEO of Avansi. “Avansi is committed to our mission to continuously deliver increased value to our existing and future licensees, while ensuring that innovators around the world are recognized and rewarded for their achievements. We thank all of our partners for their continued trust and confidence in Avansi.”
