Precision sensing for ultra-low power industrial applications

Mouser Electronics, a global authorized distributor with the newest electronic components and industrial automation products, is now stocking the ultra-low-power Arm® Cortex®-M4F-based MAX32675C microcontroller (MCU) from Analog Devices (ADI).

This highly integrated mixed-signal microcontroller delivers excellent performance while maintaining ultra-low power consumption.

The MAX32675C MCU is ideal for 4mA to 20mA loop-powered sensors and transmitters used to measure pressure, temperature, and flow in industrial and medical applications.

ADI's MAX32675C MCU, now available from Mouser, is based on an ultra-low-power Arm Cortex-M4 core with a floating point unit (FPU).

The MCU includes 384KB of flash memory (376KB of user memory) and 160KB of SRAM, allowing optional data retention even in low-power modes.

Additionally, it implements Error Correction Coding (ECC) that enables single error correction and double error detection across flash, SRAM, and cache, ensuring stable code execution even in demanding applications.

Analog front end with integrated low power HARTThe MAX32675C MCU, featuring an analog front end (AFE), supports setup and diagnostics by providing bidirectional digital data transmission to industrial sensors via a current loop.

Additionally, the AFE provides two 12-channel sigma-delta ADCs (Δ-Σ ADCs) that digitize external analog signals and system parameters such as temperature and supply voltage.

Each ADC is equipped with a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) in front of it, which has adjustable gain.

Users can improve performance and accuracy by converting ADC output from integer to single-precision floating-point format in real time.

The MAX32675C also features an advanced encryption standard (AES) engine, persistent key storage, and other robust security features.

This MCU operates over a temperature range of -40℃ to +105℃ and operates reliably even in harsh industrial environments.
