“Leading the market as a core AI infrastructure company”

SK Hynix has reorganized its organization to become a core AI infrastructure company, including establishing an 'AI Infra' organization and promoting Kim Joo-sun to the position of president.
SK Hynix announced on the 7th that it had carried out organizational restructuring and executive personnel changes in 2024 after a board of directors report.
The company stated, “In this year’s challenging global management environment, we have overcome the downturn crisis and have been recognized in the market for our technological competitiveness in AI memory centered on HBM (High Bandwidth Memory).” The company added, “In line with this trend, through this reorganization and executive appointments, we will further solidify the company’s AI technological competitiveness while leading innovation that meets customer needs and technological trends.”
First, SK Hynix decided to establish an 'AI Infra' organization with the goal of maintaining a competitive edge in the future AI infrastructure market.
Under 'AI Infra', 'HBM Business' will be newly established to consolidate HBM-related capabilities and functions that were previously scattered across sectors, and the existing 'GSM (Global Sales & Marketing)' organization will also be reorganized. GSM Kim Joo-sun was promoted to president and appointed as AI Infra manager.
In addition, the 'AI&Next' organization was newly established under 'AI Infra' to lead the pathfinding work of discovering and developing new markets arising from the advancement of AI technology such as next-generation HBM.
Next, the company will establish the 'NS Committee' to strengthen the competitiveness of the NAND and Solution businesses. This organization, which will serve as the control tower for the NAND and Solution businesses, will be responsible for improving the profitability of products and related projects and the efficiency of resource utilization.
In addition, SK Hynix decided to establish a ‘Basic Technology Center’ directly under the CEO to drive organic collaboration and create synergy between future leading technology and existing mass production technology organizations.
Lastly, in order to respond nimbly to changes in the global environment, related organizations and personnel will be reorganized under the ‘Global Growth Promotion’ along with the existing ‘Global Operation TF’.
Meanwhile, SK Hynix continued its policy of fostering young and capable technical talents who will become the foundation for future growth by appointing 18 new executives, including the promotion of Lee Dong-hoon, born in 1983. In particular, the company emphasized that it has also injected diversity and dynamism into the organizational culture by appointing Oh Hae-soon, the first female researcher, as a new researcher. In addition, we promoted Research Fellow Gil Deok-shin, a top expert in materials development, to Senior Research Fellow.
