ON Semiconductor, a leader in intelligent power and sensing technologies, is expanding its product portfolio to implement total system solutions for automotive, industrial, and cloud markets through strengthening its analog and power semiconductors.
Onsemi announced on the 14th that it is establishing the Analog and Mixed-Signal Group (AMG).
Led by newly appointed Group President Sudhir Gopalswamy, the group will focus on expanding on onsemi’s industry-leading portfolio of power management and sensor interface devices to address an additional $19.3 billion addressable market, accelerating growth in the automotive, industrial and cloud markets.
Additionally, Simon Keeton has been promoted to Group President, Power Solutions Group (PSG).
His leadership was instrumental in driving more than $4 billion in total revenue last year and helping to build a profitable SiC business that will generate more than $800 million in revenue in 2023.
Hassane El-Khoury, CEO of Onsemi, said: “This reorganization builds on our strengths in providing highly differentiated and optimized solutions focused on our customers’ needs.“We will do this in half. Building on Simon and Sudhir’s expertise and proven track record in the semiconductor industry, we will lay the foundation for further growth and strong leadership in the areas of intelligent power and sensing technologies,” he said.
AMG specializes in the development of a wide range of power management ICs, high-precision, low-power sensor interfaces and communication products. This positions ON Semiconductor as a comprehensive supplier of high-efficiency power tree solutions with an expanded portfolio of gate drivers, DC-DC converters, multi-stage controllers and eFuses.
AMG will also continue to expand its leadership in automotive and industrial-focused sensor interfaces and communication solutions, such as inductive, ultrasonic and medical sensing, as well as single-pair Ethernet and Bluetooth® Low Energy solutions.
The AMG Group is a new group that combines the Advanced Solutions Group (ASG) and the Integrated Circuits Division (ICD), formerly part of PSG. Sudhir oversees both the AMG Group and the Intelligent Sensing Group (ISG), which had revenues of approximately $4 billion last year.
This strategic move is expected to accelerate Onsemi’s position in the industry and add more system value to customers by supporting all architectures with analog and mixed-signal technologies that enable advanced features, high performance, and fast time to market.
Onsemi plans to report its first quarter 2024 results based on the reorganized business segments and provide comparable historical data.
