Support for development of new services utilizing Galaxy Watch bioactive sensors
Samsung Electronics is expected to provide developers with development software that enables the development of new services using the Galaxy Watch bioactive sensor, enabling the development of innovative healthcare services.
Samsung Electronics has introduced a new 'Samsung Health Software Development Kit Suite' for developing innovative healthcare solutions.
The new development tool was released as a comprehensive package consisting of △Sensor SDK △Data SDK △Accessory SDK △Research Stack.
Samsung Electronics has increased accessibility so that more developers and researchers can develop innovative healthcare services using advanced sensor technology and the Samsung Health platform.
The Sensor SDK is based on the Galaxy Watch’s bioactive sensor algorithms that accurately measure various health indicators, such as heart rate, skin temperature, electrocardiogram (ECG), and body composition (BIA), and supports developers to develop new fields of health services and advanced solutions.
In fact, Patron, one of Samsung Electronics' partners, developed an app that measures body temperature with the Galaxy Watch using the SDK and recently received approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
The newly released sensor SDK enables the development of new services, such as sleep improvement solutions, blood oxygen saturationAdditionally, it provides measurements from infrared and red LED sensors that can measure SpO2.
In addition, in order to enable the development of new services through more precise body composition analysis, in addition to the eight body composition analysis indices previously provided, such as skeletal muscle mass and body fat mass, size (magnitude) and degree (degree) are additionally provided.
Samsung Electronics will be launching a new 'Data SDK' in October to allow developers to utilize the health insights provided by 'Samsung Health'.
Developers can utilize health indicators such as sleep, exercise, blood pressure, diet, and blood sugar levels collected through Galaxy devices such as the Galaxy Watch, Ring, and smartphones through the 'Data SDK'.
In addition, you can develop efficient and convenient digital healthcare services by receiving health insights from ‘Samsung Health’ that are precisely analyzed by advanced algorithms.
The 'Accessory SDK' provides an interface that can link health data measured from various medical devices such as blood pressure monitors, heart rate monitors, and blood sugar monitors, as well as fitness devices such as bicycles, with the 'Samsung Health' app.
By utilizing this, developers can develop new services that allow users to conveniently check the results measured by medical devices in the Samsung Health app.
Samsung Electronics also provides a research stack to help developers and researchers conduct health research more efficiently and produce meaningful results.
The newly updated Research Stack 2.0 provides improved services by reflecting the opinions of multiple research institutes and experiences in conducting large-scale research. The previously introduced sensor SDK and data SDK linkage has been strengthened, expanding the range of data that can be used for research.
Developers can utilize the research stack throughout the entire process, from recruiting research participants to conducting surveys, checking progress, and monitoring. For example, the research stack can be used to develop mobile apps required for research and development, and data collected through the app can be analyzed using various tools, allowing for more flexible and convenient research.
