STMicroelectronics (ST) and HighTec EDV-Systeme have announced an integrated solution to enable safer software-defined vehicles.
ST announced today that it is further enhancing the safety and economy of software-defined vehicles by integrating ST’s Stellar MCU, which has achieved ISO 26262 ASIL D certification, with Hitec’s Rust compiler.
“Software-defined vehicles are revolutionizing vehicle design and user experiences by replacing traditional hardware-based electronic control units (ECUs) with programmable systems,” said Davide Santo, Director of ST’s Automotive Microcontroller Business Line. “This collaboration will help automakers meet the highest safety standards while leveraging the powerful capabilities of Rust.”
