AMD Software, Adrenalin Edition Latest Version Released

AMD announced on the 22nd that it has announced the latest version 3.1 of its open source upscaling and frame generation technology, FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), at the world's largest game developer conference (GDC) 2024.

The original FSR3 received favorable reviews for supporting popular game titles such as Avatar Frontier of Pandora, Yakuza 8, Starfield, and Thaumaturge, and this version 3.1 provides a new major update.

△ Improved flickering and shimmering, ghosting and dizziness, and improved visual quality in specific situations such as detail rendering △ Improved separation of frame generation and upscaling functions so that AMD FSR 3.1 frame generation technology can work with other upscaling solutions △ Support for Vulkan and Xbox game development kits △ The new FidelityFX API allows developers to debug more easily, and also provides compatibility with the latest FSR versions in the future.

AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution is an open-source upscaling solution that dramatically improves frame rates in supported game titles, delivering exceptionally high-quality, high-performance gaming experiences on virtually any hardware, including AMD GPUs and APUs, competitive hardware, and game consoles.

Additional information will be provided as AMD FSR 3.1 features are rolled out to GPUOpen developers in the future and games supporting it are released.

AMD also announced Dragon's Dogma 2, AMD Software Adrenalin Edition 24.3.1, which supports Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition, Outpost Infinity Siege, and more, has also been released. New HYPR-Tuned support has also been added for Dragon’s Dogma 2, Diablo IV, Ghostrunner, and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

When utilizing the AMD HYPR-RX feature in a HYPR-Tuned supported game title, AMD Radeon™️ Anti-Lag and AMD Radeon™️ Boost can be enabled, with AMD RSR or FSR (where supported by the game) automatically enabled to provide additional performance and latency improvements.
