Snowflake officially launched and opened the 'Snowflake Data Cleanroom' to the public on the 2nd.
The service will initially be available to Amazon Web Services and some Microsoft Azure customers. Customers of all sizes can collaborate closely by securely sharing data while protecting personal information on the data cloud.
The data cleanroom technology was announced through the acquisition of related technology company Samooha, which was named one of the 'Most Innovative Data Science Companies of 2024' by Fast Company.
Now fully integrated into Snowflake’s data cloud system, its capabilities are enhanced by Snowflake Horizon, a built-in governance model for compliance, security, privacy, interoperability and accessibility.
Data cleanrooms are a groundbreaking solution that allows you to safely share sensitive data with external companies and organizations while keeping sensitive data such as personal information private.
Until now, data cleanroom technology has only been used by a small number of data security experts within large groups and organizations. With the general release of the service, more users can now analyze or jointly operate data without restrictions on industries in a thoroughly secure environment. In all collaborative processes, sensitive data such as personally identifiable information is kept private.
Snowflake offers its data cleanroom in the form of a Snowflake Native App.
