Improved FPS and smoother gameplay

AMD has improved game FPS and enabled smooth gameplay with its cutting-edge frame generation technology, AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2.

AMD announced on the 30th that it has released a technical preview of the new AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition.

The preview showcases AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2 (AFMF 2), a cutting-edge frame generation technology designed to increase FPS and enable smoother gameplay across thousands of game titles.

AFMF 2 is supported on AMD Radeon RX 6000 and 7000 series graphics cards and select AMD Ryzen processors with Radeon Graphics.

New optimizations and adjustable settings added in this preview include: △AI optimization improvements △Performance improvements △Improvements to frame generation delays △Other updates and improvements.

In terms of AI optimization improvements, an updated algorithm was applied during the development process to enable smoother frame generation.

Additionally, optimal settings are automatically activated to give you more control over how the feature works in the game.

We've also introduced two new modes that power users can tailor to their own preferences.

As for performance improvement,Reduces buffering and helps games play at higher FPS on a wider range of devices. This is especially useful when using the AFMF 2 feature via integrated graphics, which is set to ‘Auto’ by default on AMD Ryzen processors with Radeon graphics.

We have also improved the latency that occurs when generating frames. These improvements apply generally when using AFMF 2, regardless of the mode, resolution, or hardware used.

Other updates and improvements include support for ‘Borderless Fullscreen Mode’ on AMD Radeon RX 7000 and Radeon 700M series graphics cards.

It also provides new support for Vulkan and OpenGL-based games, bringing frame generation capabilities to more games. Interoperability with AMD Radeon Chill is also available.

The new AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition Technical Preview is available for download via the official website, and more detailed information can be found in the official AFMF 2 blog post.
