Growing demand for data intelligence accelerates domestic business growth

Databricks, a global company leading in data and AI technology, has seen its domestic business continue to grow due to the increasing demand for data intelligence.

Databricks announced on the 29th that it has achieved an annual growth rate of over 100% in the Korean market.

This is a result of the increased use of data intelligence by companies, and Databricks has secured major companies such as Korean Air, BC Card, Lina Life Insurance, and AIA Life Insurance as new clients.

Based on this growth, Databricks held its representative event, ‘Data Intelligence Day’, on the 29th.

Major domestic companies such as KT, LG Electronics, Krafton, and Korea Credit Data (KCD) participated in this event and shared data and AI utilization cases.

Databricks recently raised $15 billion in Series J funding, valuing the company at $62 billion.

Databricks' data intelligence platform leverages open data formats and a governance-based lakehouse architecture to help enterprises efficiently manage their data.

CJ CheilJedang and Korea Credit Data have optimized data processing and AI utilization through Databricks.

CJ CheilJedang has established a company-wide data foundation to support rapid analysis and sophisticated decision-making, while Korea Credit Data has reduced operating costs by 90% and significantly improved user satisfaction.

“It is encouraging to see Korean companies actively pursuing AI-based innovation,” said Kang Hyung-jun, CEO of Databricks Korea. “Databricks will actively support companies to maximize the potential of AI by utilizing private data.”

This year's 'Data Intelligence Day' also featured the 'Data + AI Awards' hosted by Databricks. Award-winning companies included Korea Credit Data (KCD), KT, Musinsa, and CJ CheilJedang, who were recognized for their innovative achievements utilizing data and AI.

Databricks plans to continue to support domestic companies in achieving continuous innovation through data and AI and further expand its influence in the Korean market.
