실물 신분증과 항공탑승권 없이 스마트폰내 PASS앱 하나로 국내선 비행기를 간편하게 탈 수 있는 ‘PASS스마트항공권’ 서비스가 시작된다.
'PASS Smart Ticket' applied to 14 domestic airports and 4 airlines including Jeju Air
The 'PASS Smart Ticket' service, which allows you to conveniently board domestic flights with just the PASS app on your smartphone without a physical ID or boarding pass, is starting.
The three major telecommunication companies and Korea Airports Corporation announced that they will be implementing the 'PASS Smart Ticket' service, which allows users to authenticate their ID and boarding pass at once using the PASS app on their smartphones, starting on the 7th at 14 domestic airports across the country, including Gimpo, Gimhae, and Jeju.
'PASS Smart Ticket' can be used on domestic flights of four airlines: Jeju Air, T'way Air, Hi Air, and Eastar Jet, and Air Seoul is scheduled to be added in August. In addition, it is planned to expand to all domestic airlines in the near future.
Until now, you had to present a physical boarding pass and ID separately when checking your ID at the airport departure hall and boarding a domestic flight, but now you can complete the check-in process all at once through the PASS app, making the process more convenient.
'PASS Smart Ticket' combines the PASS mobile ID (resident registration card mobile verification service, mobile driver's license verification service) and domestic flight boarding pass, creates a QR code within the PASS app, and presents and authenticates it during boarding.
This service is available to customers who have pre-registered their mobile ID on the PASS app and completed check-in. If the customer's boarding pass information matches the PASS customer information, the PASS app will automatically display the QR code and flight ticket information.

▲Explanation of how PASS smart ticket works
In particular, based on the PASS mobile ID card that applies the real-time 1-person 1-terminal authentication policy, the security has been improved by checking the ID card information and check-in information in real time, and the security has been greatly strengthened by blocking screen capture and initializing the QR pattern, making it difficult to forge or alter.
In addition, the 'PASS Smart Ticket' service has the same function as a conventional boarding pass in all procedures, from check-in to identity verification, duty-free purchase, and boarding the aircraft. In addition, the PASS app smart ticket page provides real-time flight departure and arrival status and information on airport facilities, and special situations such as flight cancellations and ticket cancellations are also displayed as pop-up text.
Customers who wish to use the service can easily use it by accessing the 'Mobile ID' tab on the main screen of each mobile carrier's PASS app, registering their resident registration card or driver's license, and agreeing to the 'Smart Ticket Service' terms of use.
To celebrate the launch of the service, the three telecommunications companies will operate promotional booths on the third floor of the domestic departure hall at Gimpo Airport and provide exclusive passage benefits to PASS smart ticket issuers until mid-September. In addition, the PASS app will be giving away generous prizes to customers who sign up for and use the PASS smart ticket service. Detailed event information and participation methods can be found on each company’s PASS app.
The number of PASS mobile ID users is approximately 7 million, including the three telecommunications companies. The PASS mobile ID is used to confirm adult status in everyday life, such as at convenience stores, CGVs, and restaurants nationwide, when donating blood, voting in public elections, boarding fishing boats, and when receiving civil service documents or issuing certificates at government offices such as community centers.
In addition, Lotte Mart has recently become the first large mart to use PASS mobile ID for adult verification at self-checkout counters, and is expanding its partner stores. Details on the expanding partner stores will be updated on each company's PASS app.
An official from the three telecommunication companies stated, “The three telecommunication companies and Korea Airports Corporation came together to launch this service with the idea of creating a service that would allow users to enjoy domestic air travel more conveniently,” and “We will work to actively utilize mobile ID to make it an essential app in everyday life that eliminates the need for a wallet.”
