Speeding up smart logistics business with autonomous robots
LG Electronics (CEO Cho Joo-wan) will be the first to demonstrate 5G connectivity technology and will begin to pioneer the smart factory and smart logistics markets with autonomous robots.
LG Electronics announced that it will accelerate its business by publicly demonstrating its 5G technology for the first time at the Korea Radio Industry Show (KRS) for three days starting on the 20th.
IE5G is a 5G network that is tailored to specific spaces and uses dedicated frequencies rather than commercial networks, providing fast data transmission speeds and superior stability and security.
At this exhibition, LG Electronics will build a 5G network at the Korea Communication Agency (KCA) exhibition booth and showcase various uses.
In addition, LG Electronics will present an ‘autonomous vertical multi-joint robot’ that combines an autonomous driving robot and a vertical multi-joint robot arm at this exhibition.
This robot is attracting attention as a smart factory solution because it can move along the production line and perform tasks such as transporting parts, assembling products, and inspecting them.
In addition, it provides an opportunity to experience integrated control and remote collaboration by utilizing 'digital twin' technology to create a three-dimensional virtual world identical to reality.
The audience will experience the 5G network in a virtual space built with a ‘digital twin’.You can receive CCTV data connected to the cloud or communicate and collaborate remotely.
LG Electronics received the Minister's Award at the ICT Device Industry Festival hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT in recognition of its technological competitiveness and contribution to the localization of its 5G network solution.
In addition, through a business agreement with Korail, it was decided to pilot build a 5G network solution at domestic railway facilities such as Seoul Station and Siheung Depot.
Lee Jun-seong, head of LG Electronics’ Private Network Business Development Division, said, “LG Electronics will continue to expand its 5G network solution business based on the technology and business capabilities it has accumulated in various fields.”
