IBM is enhancing its AI-based threat response and prediction technology to strengthen the corporate security environment and secure competitiveness in the global market.

IBM has unveiled an autonomous security operating system that applies advanced agentic AI and automation technologies, introducing an innovative security solution that increases the efficiency of enterprises’ cyber threat detection and response.

IBM’s new AI-based autonomous security system, the Autonomous Threat Operations Machine (ATOM), is designed to autonomously detect, investigate, and respond to threats with minimal human intervention.

Additionally, IBM is introducing X-Force Predictive Threat Intelligence (X-Force PTI), a preemptive threat intelligence AI agent that provides proactive threat detection capabilities using industry-specific customized AI models.

“Companies are having more and more time to respond to increasing cyber threats,” said Jaewoong Lee, managing director of IBM Consulting Cybersecurity Services. “By automating the threat detection and response process using IBM’s agentic AI technology, we will reduce the workload of security teams and enable more strategic responses.”

IBM's ATOM system leverages an organization's existing AI agent framework and orchestration engine to Complements security solutions.

Multiple AI agents automate threat detection, alert data analysis, risk assessment, investigation, and response actions, greatly improving the work efficiency of security analysts.

This feature allows security teams to focus on more serious threats rather than wasting time dealing with unnecessary alerts.

IBM, a global system integration and managed security services provider, is leveraging its AI-based orchestration capabilities to help maximize the operational performance of security operation centers (SOCs).

ATOM provides AI technology that organically links with existing security solutions from various partners, including IBM, Palo Alto Networks, Google Cloud, and Microsoft.

IBM's X-Force Predictive Threat Intelligence (X-Force PTI) combines AI and expert analytics to provide proactive threat intelligence.

The system leverages over 100 data sources to deliver threat hunting queries and integrated intelligence reports, analyzing not only simple indicators of compromise (IOCs) but also behavioral indicators (IOBs) to help enterprises respond to threats before they occur.
