Dell held an online press conference on the 12th and introduced its AI strategy. The press conference was attended by Dell's Peter Marrs, President, Asia Pacific & Japan, and John Roese, Global CTO.

CTO John Ross, who made the announcement first, said that through generative AI, everyone in the world can now ask questions to AI, that AI can be used throughout society, and that one third of people's workload can be handled more quickly and accurately through generative AI to increase productivity.

It also predicted that generative AI will be able to process images, natural language, and audio, rather than focusing on text, and that the related market will grow significantly.

To prepare for this era, Dell has been preparing for AI-related business for the past seven years, and has begun installing AI solutions in Dell products five years ago.

In particular, since four years ago, the company has released a system capable of efficient large-scale learning, and has helped customers develop and operate AI on a new system foundation by combining computing and storage capabilities.

Peter Maas, CEO, then said that AI is a huge opportunity and predicted that the market will reach $55 billion in the Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ) region by 2026, growing at a CAGR of 23%.

Additionally, 83% are on-premises, and there are growing opportunities in this sector as system providers and customers often collaborate to provide GPUs as an aaS offering, he said.

He also said that implementing large-scale language models in Asian languages will require collaboration and will inevitably require the use of traditionally proven multi-cloud partners.
