Facial recognition and forest fire early detection AI solutions enhance competitiveness in overseas procurement markets
Domestic vision AI technology companies are also accelerating their foray into overseas markets. The selection of G-PASS companies by the Public Procurement Service has strengthened the export competitiveness of fire detection and facial recognition solutions.
Alchera, a company specializing in image recognition artificial intelligence (AI), announced on the 20th that it had been selected as a 'G-PASS company', a promising company for entry into the overseas procurement market.
G-PASS (Government Performance ASSured) is a system in which the Public Procurement Service of the Republic of Korea selects promising companies for overseas procurement market entry and actively supports their entry into overseas markets, thereby strengthening the export competitiveness of domestic companies.
The main products designated for this G-PASS are the facial recognition AI solution ‘FACE TRUST’ and the forest fire early detection AI solution ‘FireScout’. Alchera believes that the technological prowess and reliability of its artificial intelligence will be recognized and will accelerate its entry into the overseas procurement market.
Alchera's 'Face Trust' extracts features from facial images in less than 1 second with 99.99% accuracy. It can detect and determine faces in real time to prevent identity theft and fraudulent authentication in advance. It is installed in self-authentication and access control solutions for financial sector eKYC, and is utilized in all face-to-face and non-face-to-face environments based on its high security.
In addition, 'Fire Scout' detects forest fire smoke with 99.9% accuracy within 3 seconds using CCTV cameras 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and has a detection range of up to 60km. Based on the smoke location detected in the video, it estimates the location and source of the forest fire and notifies the fire response center.
Since 2021, the company has supplied solutions to Sonoma County National Park in California, USA, the world's largest wildfire outbreak area, and has already proven its performance through overseas market entry and commercialization. In fact, Alchera is accumulating use cases in industries such as finance, security, and disaster management with its own AI technology.
With facial recognition technology, the company has secured about 50 financial companies, including the first and second financial institutions in Korea, as its clients, and with forest fire detection technology, it is expanding to the US and Australia. With this G-PASS company designation, the company is expected to actively pursue business expansion into the personal authentication industry and disaster safety industry in the global market.
Hwang Young-gyu, CEO of Alchera, said, “Alchera has made multifaceted efforts to continuously seek entry into overseas markets, including establishing a subsidiary in the U.S., registering overseas trademarks, and collaborating with global companies. As a result, we were able to be designated as a G-PASS company.” He added, “We are pleased to be able to advance into overseas markets more systematically in the future, and we will work hard to strengthen international cooperation as well as the status of the Republic of Korea.”
