Samsung Electronics announced its 2024 regular executive reshuffle on November 27, with a total of five people, including two promotions to president and three changes in assigned duties.

A key feature of this executive reshuffle is the establishment of a ‘Future Business Planning Group’ as a vice-chairman-level organization to discover new businesses that are not an extension of existing businesses, thereby laying the foundation for developing new business areas.
The vice president who contributed to the growth of the TV business was promoted to president and boldly appointed as the head of the business division, and the global external cooperation organization was upgraded to the president level to contribute to building global cooperative relationships to respond to risks in the era of multipolarization.
Vice Chairman Jeon Young-hyun, head of Samsung Electronics' Future Business Planning Division, played a key role in growing Samsung Electronics' memory semiconductor and battery businesses to the world's top level, and served as CEO of Samsung SDI and then Chairman of the Board of Directors.As a leader, he has continued to demonstrate leadership.
Based on the abundant management know-how accumulated over the years and the vision for the future, he plans to lead the discovery of future food sources that will shift Samsung's paradigm in 10 years.
Yong Seok-woo, President of Samsung Electronics' DX Division Visual Display Business, is a TV development expert who has served as the development team leader since December 2021 and as the deputy business division manager since December 2022, and is evaluated to have led business growth across various fields of technology, sales, and strategy.
With this promotion, it is expected that the company will solidify its position as the No. 1 in the TV business and take the lead in strengthening its technological leadership through continuous challenges and innovations.
Kim Won-kyung, President and Head of Global Public Affairs at Samsung Electronics, is a global external cooperation expert from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. After joining Samsung Electronics in March 2012, he served as the Head of the Marketing Strategy Team in the Global Marketing Office and the Head of the External Cooperation Team in North America before taking up the role of Head of the Global Public Affairs Team in November 2017.
With his extensive network and communication skills, he is expected to contribute to building global cooperative relationships by taking charge of the Global Public Affairs Office following his promotion to president.
Samsung Electronics expects to maintain a two-person CEO system to ensure management stability while building a foundation for sustainable growth through strengthening the competitiveness of its core businesses and developing unprecedented technologies.
