Matter Devices Unveiled, 15 to be Released by 2025
WattsMatter Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Hak-yong), an IoT (Internet of Things) and Matter specialist, will unveil a number of Matter devices at the AIoT exhibition and inform the public of its intelligent home service technology.
Wattsmatter will participate in the '2024 AIoT International Exhibition' held at COEX in Seoul from October 30th.
WattsMatter, founded early this year by Dr. Kim Hak-yong (former professor at Soonchunhyang University and director of the IoT Strategy Research Institute), a well-known Internet of Things expert, is a company specializing in smart home and smart building solutions based on ‘Matter,’ a global smart home interconnection standard.
This spring, together with Hyodol, a care robot specialist, and DeepX, a domestic AI semiconductor developer, we won a contract for the '2024 Intelligent Home Service Verification and Expansion Project' hosted by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) of the Ministry of Science and ICT.
At this exhibition, Wattsmatter will introduce intelligent home services and related devices developed together with consortium companies.
The goal is to use Hyodol's care robot, which uses generative AI to enable two-way conversation, to control not only emotional conversations but also smart home devices.
In particular, Wattsmatter is being developed this yearWe plan to unveil five types of Matter devices.
Representative products include Matter Hub supporting Thread and Zigbee protocols, smart electric curtains and smart blinds based on Matter over Wi-Fi, and occupancy sensors and door opening sensors based on Matter over Thread.
Among these, the presence sensor is expected to enable more intelligent presence detection-based smart home services by utilizing 24GHz radar and motion detection sensors together.
In addition, the Matter Hub supports both Thread and Zigbee protocols, so it is expected to be useful not only to customers using existing Zigbee devices, but also to customers who are building smart homes based on the Matter standard.
Wattsmatter is already in the process of obtaining CSA certification and KC certification for these as an adopter member of CSA. These products are scheduled to be officially launched one per month starting in November.
Wattsmatter plans to develop five more Matter devices in 2025, following the five it has developed this year.
By releasing a total of 15 Matter devices by the end of 2025, we plan to establish ourselves as Korea's only and best Matter standard-based smart home/building specialized company.
We also plan to import and sell smart home products with good quality and cost effectiveness.
Last July, we signed an official Korean partnership agreement with ZemiSmart, a specialized manufacturer of matter devices, and we plan to complete additional contracts with 4-5 companies soon.
CEO Kim Hak-yong is very positive about the smart home market outlook for 2025.
CEO Kim Hak-yong said, “It has been two years since the Matter standard was announced, and Matter devices are pouring out in earnest. Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Apple, and others are strengthening their smart home businesses, so we expect to see full-scale growth.”
In particular, he expressed his ambition, saying, “We have been able to realize a truly intelligent home through AI and Matter standards,” and “We will continue to provide a user-centered intelligent home experience through continuous innovation.”
At this 2024 AIoT exhibition, ▲AI+IoT products and solutions ▲smart homes, offices, healthcare ▲smart cities, villages, etc. will be exhibited and introduced.
