CoorsTeK, a global advanced ceramics manufacturer, is investing in innovation across its CoorsTeK facilities worldwide, starting with an expansion of its headquarters.

CoorsTek announced on the 13th that it has begun construction on a new global headquarters in Golden, Jefferson County, Colorado, and is expanding its investment in the local community.

CoorsTek's new headquarters is the first building in parent company Coors Group's $900 million redevelopment project called Clayworks, which will expand into a mixed-use space for the community.

Clayworks is a project to redevelop five blocks of downtown Golden, a historic site for the Coors Group that has been home to technical ceramics manufacturing and research facilities since 1910.

The five blocks will house CoorsTek's new global headquarters as well as state-of-the-art office space, food and beverage outlets, hotels, and apartments, which are expected to further revitalize the local community as a mixed-use economic district.

The Coorstec headquarters, which has begun construction, is the first phase of the Clayworks project and is a four-story commercial building measuring 16,908 square meters (㎡).

The building is designed with a mix of new and existing buildings to reflect innovative conditions for sustainability and an excellent working environment.

The building will house Coorstec, AC Development, Adolph Coors Company, and other Coors affiliates, as well as other businesses and individuals. The expected completion date is approximately two years.

This project is an extension of Coorstec’s focus on growing together with the local community.

Recently, Coorstec has been innovating its factories around the world to contribute to the local economy and environment. In August last year, it installed a 1.5-megawatt peak (MWp) solar power system at its Rayong, Thailand, manufacturing facility. This system is expected to reduce Coorstec’s costs and carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 840 metric tons (t) per year.

In addition, CoorsTech supports research fellowships and a local engineering fair to support the Denver, Colorado community.

The CoorsTech Research Fellowship provides financial support for academic expenses and opportunities to network with CoorsTech experts, and has produced 19 Colorado College of Engineering PhDs since its inception in 2014. It also continues to sponsor the Denver Metro Area Science and Engineering Fair (DMRSEF), encouraging student interest and providing opportunities for research presentations.
