Integrated 4 RF signal sources, 2 internal combiners, and 2 low-noise receivers in a single device
Keysight Technologies, Inc. today announced the addition of the new NA520xA PNA-X to its PNA-X vector network analyzer portfolio.
This product is a highly configurable vector network analyzer (VNA) that accelerates component characterization by integrating four RF signal sources, two internal couplers, and two low-noise receivers into a single instrument.
When verifying new device designs, RF development engineers must ensure that they meet the waveform and spectral characteristics specified in relevant standards or specifications.
To do this, engineers must characterize the behavior of complex active components to ensure that the system operates as expected in real-world environments. However, this characterization process requires complex test setups that increase test cycle times and can introduce errors into the development workflow.
The new Keysight PNA-X vector network analyzer simplifies complex characterization test setups with a highly configurable architecture that provides four independent RF sources with pulse modulators and source filters.
The NA520xA PNA-X has four independent, integrated, high-speed, ultra-low phase noise RF signal sources, eliminating the need for external sources. Additionally, two low-noise receivers and a signal combiner allow for bidirectional measurement of noise figure and intermodulation distortion without external switches.
Eight wideband, high dynamic range, and preselector receivers enable faster S-parameter and spectrum analysis measurements, high-resolution pulsed RF measurements, and direct receiver access and accessible front panel loops allow for precision network analysis of a wide range of complex active components.
“The new PNA-X is another groundbreaking product from Keysight,” said Bryan Hosein, vice president of engineering for Focus Microwave Group. “Its four independent phase coherent sources are at the heart of both the Harmonic Hybrid Active and D-band Hybrid Vector Load Pull systems.”
“Our latest additions to the PNA-X vector network analyzer portfolio demonstrate Keysight’s commitment to providing engineers with the tools they need to solve increasingly complex RF design challenges,” said Joe Rickert, vice president and general manager of Keysight’s High Frequency Measurement Center. “By integrating essential capabilities into a single, powerful instrument, we significantly simplify the design and test process, enabling engineers to achieve high-precision insights faster and reducing our customers’ time to market.”
