Adder Energy, one of India’s largest electric scooter brands, is expanding its adoption of the Siemens Xcelerator industry software portfolio to reduce design and engineering cycle times, improve product quality and accelerate time to market.

Siemens Digital Industries Software today announced that Ader Energy, one of India’s largest electric scooter brands, has expanded its adoption of the Siemens Xcelerator industry software portfolio.

This has enabled Adder Energy to reduce design and engineering cycle times, improve product quality, and accelerate time to market.

Ather Energy was founded in 2013 by IIT alumni Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain. In 2018, it launched India's first intelligent electric scooter, the Ather 450, followed by its new flagship product, the Ather 450X, in 2020, the 450S in 2023, and a special edition scooter, the Ather 450 Apex, in January 2024.

In 2018, Adder Energy adopted Siemens’ Teamcenter® software for product lifecycle management (PLM).

This helped achieve important key performance indicators (KPIs), such as eliminating design iterations and reducing design and engineering cycle times by adopting the right first-time approach.

Since then, the Adder Energy team has enhanced its in-house testing regime for durability and noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) by leveraging Simcenter™ STAR-CCM+ software for computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and Simcenter™ physical testing solutions.

Most recently, the Adder Energy vehicle engineering team transitioned from legacy systems to Siemens’ NX™ software to drive new product development and engineering for all existing and new vehicle platforms.
