Keysight ADS and Siemens Xpedition Bidirectional Integration, Next-Generation Wireless Co-Design

Developers Optimize performance for various application areas such as 5G/6G and radar systems

Keysight Technologies and Siemens EDA are integrating their leading design tools, which is expected to enable developers to achieve performance optimization in next-generation wireless designs such as 5G/6G and radar systems.

Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS), a leading global provider of software and services for industrial automation, announced today that integration between Keysight’s Advanced Design System (ADS) and Siemens’ Xpedition Enterprise EDA toolset will enable engineers to more efficiently co-design digital systems and RF circuits by performing layout and manufacturing in Xpedition and RF circuit and electromagnetic simulations in Keysight ADS.

This collaboration builds on previous work between Keysight and Siemens EDA to enable bidirectional integration of system design with RF and microwave engineering tools through dynamic tool integration.

This initiative bidirectionally integrates full hierarchical design between Keysight ADS and Siemens Xpedition Designer and Layout, eliminating the tedious and error-prone task of manually converting libraries between tools.

Engineers can now seamlessly transition between detailed RF design in ADS and system-level design in Xpedition, maintaining design integrity throughout the development process.

This is critical to optimizing performance in areas such as 5G/6G communications, advanced radar systems, and electronic warfare applications. In these domains, the interaction between RF and digital domains plays a critical role in system performance.

The new products are included in Keysight’s Advanced Design System 2025 and Siemens’ Xpedition Enterprise 2409 version.

“We have a long history of working with Siemens to support our customers in enabling the next generation of wireless design,” said Nilesh Kamdar, director of Keysight EDA design and verification. “This bidirectional integration enables engineers to optimize performance across a wide range of applications, including 5G/6G and radar systems.”

“As engineering teams strive to achieve digital transformation, the digital connection between RF and electronic system design becomes more critical,” said AJ Invorvaia, senior vice president, Electronic Board Systems, Siemens Digital Industries Software. “We are excited to announce enhanced integration that enables designers to accelerate design completion while optimizing system performance and improving quality.”
