NXP and New E-Book Release
Mouser Electronics introduces motor control technology essential to maximizing the performance of electric vehicles.
Mouser, in collaboration with NXP Semiconductors, has released a new eBook highlighting advanced motor control technologies for electric and industrial applications.
This book contains a variety of expert perspectives on the acceleration of system electrification, and emphasizes the importance of motor control systems, which are essential for maximizing the performance of electric vehicles (EVs).
In this eBook, “11 Experts Discuss Advanced Motor Control for Modern Electric Vehicles,” engineers from NXP and the automotive industry discuss the impact of motor control systems on vehicle performance and how NXP Semiconductors can help.
NXP is a global leader in motor control and automotive processors, offering a broad portfolio of solutions.
One of the key products featured in the eBook is the S32K3 32-bit microcontroller (MCU), which is optimized for automotive body electronics systems, battery management, and zone controllers.
This product is designed for security, functional safety, and low-level driveIt simplifies software development by integrating the Eber and others into a single package and supports functional safety up to ASIL D level.
Additionally, the S32M2 is a 12V motor control solution that integrates high-voltage analog functions, communication interfaces, and an MCU into a single compact SiP (system in package).
This solution efficiently controls BLDC motors and PMSM motors and is suitable for various applications such as pumps, fans, and sunroofs.
The S32K39 MCU is optimized for electric vehicle control applications and has networking, security, and functional safety features that surpass existing automotive MCUs, meeting the requirements of domain-based E/E architectures and software-defined vehicles (SDVs).
It also works with NXP's battery management system (BMS) and electric vehicle power inverter to provide an end-to-end solution.
Finally, the GD3162 gate driver is designed to drive the latest high-voltage silicon carbide (SiC) and insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) modules, extending electric vehicle driving range, reducing charging times, and reducing overall system cost.
