Electromagnetic Safety Forum November 14 Press Center
A forum has been created to discuss and communicate recent issues regarding electromagnetic waves in the living environment.
The National Radio Research Agency (President Chang-rim Jeong) of the Ministry of Science and ICT announced that it will hold the '12th Electromagnetic Wave Safety Discussion (Forum)' on the topic of 'Current Status of Human Protection from Electromagnetic Waves' at the Korea Press Center on November 14 to address the public's curiosity and concerns about electromagnetic waves in the living environment and to provide correct information.
The Electromagnetic Wave Safety Discussion Forum has been held once a year since 2015 as part of activities to improve awareness of electromagnetic waves, so that experts from academia, civic groups, and the general public can freely discuss and ask questions about electromagnetic wave human safety and resolve their questions.
This forum will be held to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Electromagnetic Wave Safety Forum, to review the issues and achievements of past Electromagnetic Wave Safety Forums, and to provide a venue for communication to share and spread awareness of safety regarding electromagnetic waves.
First, through a preliminary survey, we will listen to concerns about electromagnetic waves in the living environment, and then through expert presentations, we will share explanations of our country's electromagnetic wave human body protection standards and the effects of electromagnetic waves on the human body so that the general public can sympathize. In addition, we have set up a time for participant discussion, including questions and answers between general attendees and experts, so that this can be an opportunity to resolve questions the public has had about electromagnetic waves in their daily lives.
Pre-surveys on electromagnetic waves and registration for attendees are being accepted online until November 13, and a small souvenir will be given to those who attend on-site.
National Radio Research InstituteDirector Changrim said, “We will further strengthen two-way communication with the public based on scientific facts to resolve questions and concerns about electromagnetic waves in our daily lives and allow people to use radio waves with confidence.”
