Recognition of work-life balance, health, safety, and employee growth efforts
Applied Materials Korea (CEO Park Kwang-sun) was recognized for its corporate culture that supports work-life balance, health and safety, and autonomy, as well as its efforts to support employee growth.
Applied Materials Korea recently announced that it was selected as one of the '100 Best Companies to Work for in Korea 2025' by the Great Place to Work Institute (GPTW), a global trust management evaluation organization.
Applied Materials Korea, a leading company in materials engineering solutions for advanced semiconductors and displays, operates various programs to help employees perform at their best based on a corporate culture of autonomy and inclusion.
GPTW evaluates a company's organizational culture based on an international standard model consisting of five categories: trust, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.
In this process, a quantitative evaluation is conducted through a trust management index survey targeting executives and employees, and the award-winning company is selected by comprehensively reflecting the results of a cultural management evaluation that analyzes the company's culture, policies, and systems.
Park Kwang-sun, CEO of Applied Materials Korea, said, “Applied Materials is realizing groundbreaking advancements in materials engineering and innovations in semiconductor and display technologies through collaboration. “We will support our employees to grow and achieve their best potential within an autonomous and inclusive culture,” he said.
Applied Materials Korea has approximately 2,200 employees working in 12 business sites across the country, including Bundang, Hwaseong, Pyeongtaek, Icheon, and Cheonan.
The company offers a variety of programs to support employees' work-life balance and health and safety, including staggered work hours, early family day leave, nursing rooms, and nurse visits.
In addition to this award, Applied Materials Korea also received the ‘2024-2025 Best Companies to Work for in Korea’ and ‘2024-2025 Best Companies to Work for Millennials’ certifications from GPTW.
In addition, it was selected as the 'Top Job Creation Company in Korea' by the Ministry of Employment and Labor in 2020, 2022, and 2023, and in 2023, it won the 'Comprehensive ESG Award' at the '2023 K-ESG Management Awards' sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Environment, and the Fair Trade Commission.
