SKT CEO Yoo Young-sang said that in 2024, he will implement the attitude of “seeking truth based on facts” and make it a year in which he achieves the results of a “global AI company.”

In his New Year's address to SKT members on the 2nd, CEO Yoo emphasized three strategies to visualize the fruits of the practical and rapid changes and innovations of the AI company that SKT has been pursuing in 2024.

First, SKT's 2023 was evaluated as a year in which it laid the foundation for leaping forward from its existing businesses such as wireless communications, media, and enterprise based on 'TB synergy' to a global AI company. SKT said that it has achieved the results of accumulating AI capabilities through a two-track strategy of “self-reliance and cooperation,” forming partnerships with global tech companies, and building a global AI ecosystem through cooperation between member companies of the SK Group ICT Committee.

In order to visualize the fruits of the AI company's practical and rapid changes and innovations that it has pursued so far in 2024, CEO Yoo emphasized three strategies: △ Full-scale implementation of the AI pyramid strategy, △ Visualization of AI company performance, and △ Improvement of corporate constitution.

First, we will 'implement the AI pyramid strategy in earnest'. The organization will select key tasks and priorities based on three major areas: AI infrastructure, AIX, and AI services, and emphasize the synergy of each area.

In addition, we emphasized tangible results such as customer indicators, sales, and operating profit to achieve a clear AI company vision. SKT plans to rapidly grow new businesses such as AI data centers and combine existing businesses and services with AI to achieve greater results.

In addition, CEO Yoo said that the global AI company that SKT is trying to become is a new path that no one has ever taken before, and suggested 'improving the corporate structure' to support it.

President Yoo urged each individual to keep in mind that they are the ones executing the company's vision and strategy, and to implement them with a 'seeking truth from facts' attitude and produce results.

Lastly, CEO Yoo Young-sang said, “2024 is a meaningful year for SKT as it celebrates its 40th anniversary, but the environment surrounding us, such as rapidly changing external conditions and rapid technological changes, may make the road more difficult than anything we have experienced so far.” He added, “However, I am confident that our SKT members will overcome this crisis and lead SKT to become a world-class AI company in the near future with our No. 1 DNA that has led global-level ICT innovation that others do not have.”
