The 1st Digital In-Depth Issues Colloquium Held on the 4th
Discussing the new order in the AI era with the public
The government discussed with the public the new digital order in the AI era.
Kang Do-hyun, 2nd Vice Minister of Science and ICT, attended the '1st Digital In-Depth Issues Colloquium' held at the Jeongdong 1928 Art Center on Thursday, July 4. This is a follow-up measure to the 'New Digital Order Establishment Promotion Plan' and the 'AI Seoul Summit' jointly prepared by 26 ministries, agencies, and offices.
At this colloquium, neuroscientist Dr. Dong-sun Jang highlighted the differences between the human brain and AI, and spoke about the changes that generative AI will bring to industry, technology, and education, as well as the right attitude to take in response to the rapidly changing times.
Vice Minister Kang Do-hyun said in his congratulatory remarks, “Today’s ‘Digital In-Depth Issues Colloquium’ is a place for citizens to discuss the future, continuing the achievements of the ‘Digital Bill of Rights’ and the ‘AI Seoul Summit.’” He added, “AI is a new hope and opportunity for us, so the people must participate and pool their wisdom to thoroughly prepare for the hidden dangers and open an era of AI for all.”
The Ministry of Science and ICT will work with relevant ministries to promote social consensus in the following order: securing AI safety, trust, and ethics through a digital public forum, improving digital accessibility (July-August), responding to fake news using deepfakes (September-October), and ensuring stable implementation of non-face-to-face treatment (November-December).
We plan to actively reflect the public's opinions from the public discussion process in our policies and thereby increase the public's acceptance of the digital era.
